I think that this song is one of the most emotionally painful songs ever written. It is beyond description, since it goes far beyond our intellectual comprehension. It penetrates on a very profound level the hidden corridors of our souls. Outbursts of tears are very common, due to our trapped emotions, a reminiscent of our collective souls that remains in another reality, beyond the wasteland of our three dimensional earthly experience. Yannisastra

Yannisastra...anguish there is as music can provoke all kinds of emotion...but "goes beyond our intellectual comprehension"??? The images are showing you the poverty in certain parts of the middle east which you undoubtedly recognised...and are supposed to show how the western world drives poorer nations to overextend themselves in an effort to be as modern as say America or Europe, which sadly is not the way it should go.

I loved this song so much I named my 1990s goth lit zine after it--Elegia: A Journey into the Gothic
